unable to start slurmdbd service

Hello Support,

I'm using CentOS6.4 and I have installed mysql, mysql-server,
mysql-devel & mysql-libs. I compiled slurm version 14.03.6 with the
following options:
/./configure --prefix=///opt/slurm////--sysconfdir= /opt/slurm/etc
--enable-pam////--enable-debug --with-mysql_config=/usr/bin/mysql_config
/(the location of my mysql_config program)/
/
But I'm unable to start slurmdbd.
/error: Couldn't find the specified plugin name for
accounting_storage/mysql looking at all files
error: cannot find accounting_storage plugin for accounting_storage/mysql
error: cannot resolve acct_storage plugin operations
fatal: Unable to initialize accounting_storage/mysql accounting storage
plugin
/
Attached is my slurm.conf & slurmdbd.conf. Can you guide me what
configuration that I need to enable/disable in the slurm.conf and
slurmdbd.conf in order for slurm services to run?

Hi Izimiyati,

Do you have:

/usr/lib64/slurm/accounting_storage_mysql.so


Installed on the build host? It looks like you may have been trying to
put it in /opt/slurm however.

Your Slurm configure statement if used as is, may have had issues as there
are erroneous spaces placed by “—sysconfdir”, and “—prefix”.

Hi Christopher/Support,

Thank you for replying.

After I removed --with-mysql_config option I got
/opt/slurm/lib/slurm/accounting_storage_mysql.so

I'm able to start slurmdbd. However, when I start slurmctld it crashed.
See attached for error messages.

Hi Izimiyati,

It looks to me like you may have some ownership issues with the slurm
working directories. It also could be that DNS or host resolution isn’t
working correctly for the nodes. You may want to revisit this install how
to: http://slurm.schedmd.com/quickstart_admin.html . Hope that helps.
